RUNBACKS We are offering a service wherein a pet can be seen by the veterinarian and a diagnosis made on short notice, with regards to MINOR or ongoing cases. The two operating concepts are "Seen on short notice" and "minor cases". Here's how it works: For example, your dog has an ear infection you just discovered, and you can tell it hurts. With the "run back" service you get to bring your pet in on a "Run Back" basis. You come in at the appointed time, and you still have to wait a while. That's normal. The pet is picked up by a nurse and carried [between cases] to the Vet who renders a quick diagnosis and treatment strategy, and then types you notes that make sense about what's going on and how it's being managed. The nurse answers questions, gives you any medications, and you're on your way. You don't see the vet. This bothers some people but it's the only way to see somewhat-urgent minor cases on a very short notice basis. The key is a VISUAL diagnosis. It's not for systemically ill patients. THE PRACTICE PHILOSOPHYSpeaking for myself, only, I want you to know that my practice philosophy is pretty simple and looks like this: "When your pet is in front of me, I pretend the pet is mine and I ask myself "What would I do if this pet were mine?" ...and when deciding what to do, for example with an illness, I give you your most-thorough option, your least aggressive option, and then I offer you my favorite: 'What I Would Do If She Were Mine' and you can choose what you want to do. It's really a simple philosophy and people usually like it*. |
